Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman on Election in Yugoslavia
China maintains that the election in Yugoslavia is purely the domestic affair of Yugoslavia and respects the choice by the Yugoslavian people.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Sun Yuxi made the comments Tuesday at a regular press conference.
The Chinese government has always advocated that the internal affairs of a country should not be interfered with by other countries, Sun said.
He said that "we sincerely hope the Yugoslavia will be able to maintain its political stability and realize the economic and social development."
"We also hope that the Sino-Yugoslavia relations will grow further," the spokesman said.
