Flood Claims 306 Lives in Northeast India, 165 Missing

Reports from India say flash flooding in the country's north east has so far claimed 306 lives.

India's Press Trust is reporting that another 165 people are missing in the northeast West Bengal and Bihar states.

And, it says the situation in Bihar remains grim.

But, unofficial sources are putting the death toll even higher, at 450.

They say the floods are affecting the lives of 13 and a half million people in 8 districts.
