China Grants Emergency Aid to Vietnam's Flood Victims

China Red Cross Society handed over 20,000 US dollars to Vietnam Red Cross in support of Vietnam 's flood victims.

Charge' d'affaires ad interim of Chinese Embassy in Vietnam Zhou Wenrui Monday handed over the money to Vice President of Vietnam Red Cross Society Nguyen Dinh Huong here.

Zhou expressed belief that under the leadership of the Vietnamese Communist Party and government, Vietnamese people will definitely overcome the disasters and rebuild their homes.

Huong, on behalf of Vietnam Red Cross Society, reviewed the friendship cooperative relations between the two societies and thanked the China Red Cross for the aid.

The floods, which hit Vietnam's Mekong delta for more than two months, have claimed over 100 lives. The loss of property excluding destroyed infrastructure is estimated at 520 billion Vietnamese dong (37 million U.S. dollars).
