Liu Xuan Wins Beam Gold Medal
China's Liu Xuan won the gold medal of beam event at the Sydney Olympic Games on Monday, making China's gold tally up to 19, second after the United States.

Liu, the last of eight competitors onto the beam, earned a winning mark of 9.825, pushing Russians off the top of podium into silver and bronze positions.

Ekaterina Lobazniouk, a bronze medalist on the vault on Sunday, took silver with 9.787 followed by her team mate Elena Prodounova with 9.775.
