Vietnamese Prime Minister Leaves Hanoi for China Visit

Vietnamese Prime Minister Phan Van Khai left Hanoi Monday morning for a four-day working visit to China.

The is the Prime Minister's second visit to China and is being made at the invitation of Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji.

The friendship between Vietnam and China smoothly develops in recent years, Khai said at the Noi Bai Airport before leaving.

He is scheduled to meet with Zhu and other Chinese leaders to review trade and economic cooperation between the two countries in the year since the official visit to Vietnam by the Chinese Premier in December 1999.

Khai expressed belief that with the two sides' efforts, the friendly neighborliness and comprehensive cooperation between them will further develop in the 21st century.
