China to Check on Manpower/Outlay Resources of Scientific Research
Official sources reveal that authoritative departments will set about a great work to check into the developments of scientific research, experiments and tests that have been carried out in China.
At a National Scientific Research Development Tests Investigation Meeting called today, a chief from the State Statistical Bureau said that manpower and outlay spending incurred has kept on rising in China in recent years and that practical work to check into the actual situation is needed.
To check into China's manpower and outlay resources is without doubt an important investigation into the country's condition and strength and a general survey to be undertaken on the largest scale with regard to the situation of scientific technological construction carried out in China since last done in 1985. It is told that manpower and outlay resources and distribution of scientific research personnel especially those in enterprises and scientific and educational institutions will be accurately recorded in helping creation of a national innovation system.
Hundreds and thousands of units and models of different sizes and at a varied level will be involved. The investigation will begin and complete with the start and by the end of next year. The first batch of investigation results will be publicized in September 2001.
