Beijing Advances Toward a 'Digitization City'
A technological project, called "Digital Beijing", is making information and network and other modern things become an indispensable part of Beijing citizens' daily life.
According to the staff of the Beijing Informationization Office, the core of "Digitized Beijing" contains two parts: building city information infrastructure and carrying out the information application project. Specifically, it will integrate the existing radio and video resources and set up a capital information platform; at the same time, it will make the maximum use of digit, information and web technology to complete the construction of electronic government administration, electronic business, informationized community, sci-tech information network, long-distance education, etc.
It's reported that this mammoth project which is being continuously expanded and extended will be tried out first in Zhongguancun honored as "China's Silicon Valley".
