Comprehensive Radio-TV Network in Fujian
A comprehensive radio and television network linking all counties and cities in east China's Fujian Province has been established, an official with the provincial radio and television administration said yesterday.
The network is composed of more than 4,600 kilometers of optical cable, 68 broadcasting transmission stations across the province, and other facilities, the official said.
Construction of the network began in 1993 when the province built its microwave network at a cost of 50 million yuan (about six million U.S. dollars).
So far more than on billion yuan has been used for the construction of the wide band optical cable network, which is also connected with the three neighboring provinces of Zhejiang, Jiangxi and Guangdong.
