Chinese Police Wear New Uniforms

Chinese Police Wear New Uniforms
The Ministry of Public Security announced Wednesday that beginning October 1, the police will replace their current uniforms, which were first worn in 1989, with new ones.

The new police uniforms, dubbed "Style-99", will first be used by police officers in big cities across the country, according to a news conference held in Beijing.

The Chinese police have changed their uniforms seven times over the past five decades and the "Style-99" uniforms are said to have changed a lot in color, pattern, function and other aspects.

The deep-blue color of the latest police uniforms is the mainstream color for police in most countries, which is quite different from army uniforms.
