Mexico to Further Develop Economic, Trade Ties With China

Mexican President Ernesto Zedillo said Tuesday that his country will further develop relations with China in the fields of trade and investment.

Mexico and China have enjoyed good cooperation and exchange, which should be further strengthened, Zedillo said while meeting with visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan.

Mexico supports China's bid to join the World Trade Organization and expressed his belief that the two countries will soon conclude their negotiations and reach an agreement, the president said.

Tang said the Chinese government attaches great importance to the friendly ties with Mexico. He also held talks with his Mexican counterpart, Rosario Green.
