China Cracks Heroine Smuggling Case

Officers of the Xiamen customs said Tuesday they have seized as much as 4,185.2 grams of heroin found in the position of a Taiwanese person Monday.

It is the largest drug smuggling case they have ever cracked.

The suspect, surnamed Lee, was found to have 12 small packages of heroin attached to his abdomen, back and thighs with adhesive tapes, the customs officers said.

Lee was caught during a safety check when he was going to take flight No. MF 895 from Xiamen to Macao, and from there he planned to fly to Taiwan.

This is the fourth drug smuggling case the Xiamen customs has cracked this year. Another Taiwanese man was caught with 730 grams of heroin attached to his body on March 30.
