Poly Cultural Week to Flourish Cultural Market During National Day

The Beijing Daily Group and Poly Theatre will co-sponsor a variety of concerts at the newly-renovated Poly Theatre during the National Day holiday.

From October the 1st to the third, the Oriental Song and Dance Ensemble will stage a series of colorful performances. Famous artists, such as Cheng Fangyuan, Zheng Xulan and Liu Weiwei, will appear before the audience.

On October the fourth, famous violinist Sheng Zhongguo will give a solo show. The Butterfly Lovers and Titanic, the well-known theme song from the tear-jerker film are included in the program list.

Then on October the sixth, the Red Poppy Female Percussion ensemble will deliver their elegant brand of percussion music to the public.

Red Poppy Female Percussion owns over 40 types of Chinese and Western percussion instruments. Their repertoire consists mostly of specially composed percussion pieces by famous composers from all around the world, such as The King's Parting With His Favorite Concubine.

And on October the eighth, symphony lovers will have the chance to enjoy the music of the Beijing Symphony Orchestra.
