East China Province Sets Up Agriculture High-Tech Park

An agricultural high-tech demonstration park was officially set up Tuesday in Xiaoshan in the suburb of Hangzhou, the capital city of east China's Zhejiang Province.

The establishment of the park was sponsored by the provincial government of Zhejiang and will be operated by the private Zhejiang Chuanhua Group Company.

As the first of its kind in Zhejiang, the park occupies a total area of 5,000 mu (some 333 hectares), with an expected total investment of 500 million yuan (60 million US dollars).

Sources from the park said the park will introduce advanced international agriculture technologies as well as inform farmers about related technologies.

The park also welcomes international investors to come to the park to seek business opportunities.
