Macao SAR to Hold Tourism Promotion Activities in Japan

Tourism officials of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) will hold a series of activities in Japan on Wednesday to better promote Macao's tourism.

The officials will meet with people in charge of tourism organizations and organize promotion activities such as photo exhibition, lion dancing, dishes of special flavor, musical performance and Portuguese folk dance.

The activities are aimed at demonstrating Macao's attractive tourism resources and the special feature of the blended eastern and western cultures in Macao.

Official statistics show that in the first seven months of this year, Japan was Macao's fourth major source of tourists following the Hong Kong SAR, China's inland areas and Taiwan. More than 80,000 Japanese visited Macao during the period.

Macao SAR Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah, who pays an official visit to Japan from September 18 to 22, will attend the opening ceremony of the promotion activities.
