Chinese women weightlifters are expected to make a clean sweep of the two gold medals on offer on day four of the Olympic weightlifting tournament.

Chen Xiaomin and Lin Weining of China are hot favorites Tuesday to take their respective categories and take their medal tally to three golds from as many lifters.

The 23-year-old Chen, was ultra impressive at the recent Asian Championships in May as she won the gold medal in the 69kg class. She will drop back to the 63 class at the Sydney Olympics.

European champion Valentina Popova of Russia is one lifter who could surprise. Since 1997 she has increased her personal best total from 177.5kg to 232.5kg.

The 21-year-old Lin Weining is an international weightlifting superstar. She made her debut at the 1999 World Junior Championships, breaking the world clean and jerk record for both seniors and juniors with a lift of 137.5kg.

Lin now holds the total senior record of 252.5kg and will enter the competition a firm favorite.
