Construction Bank Joins Hands with Insurance Firm in E-Commerce

China Construction Bank (CCB) and China Ping'an Insurance Co., Ltd. (CPIC) Tuesday signed an agreement on the development of E-commerce.

According to the agreement, the CCB and the CPIC will carry out cooperation mainly featuring E-commerce. Clients will be able to use the CCB's inquiry, account transfer, on-line payment and other banking functions on the CPIC's website PA18.com, while on the CCB 's website www.ccb.on-line.com they can access the CPIC's on-line insurance and real-time securities quoting services.

A spokesman for the CCB said that the bank has begun experiments in its Shenzhen Branch, connecting the two systems with special lines to provide clients with fast and secure inquiring and account transfer services.

The two sides will soon carry out cooperation in joint-name credit card, private banking and other fields, to expand cross sales of the two sides' products.

He said the cooperation will help lower both sides' operating cost and expand their respective businesses.
