China's Petrochemical Industry Sees Brisk Online Trade

News from the first Chinese Petrochemical Industry E-commerce Meeting, which was closed Monday, shows that the E-commerce of petrochemical industry has entered the stage of rapid development. Experts have predicted that in the next years, the online business volume of this trade will exceed 140 billion yuan, the largest volume among all domestic industries.

Reports say that the petrochemical industry will be the second largest E-commerce market in the world. Currently, the E-commerce of China's petrochemical industry has developed rapidly. Some large petrochemical firms have founded their own E-commerce platforms and many petrochemical network firms have come into existence as the circumstance required.

Experts pointed out that petroleum and chemical industries are important raw and semi-finished material industries as well as the pillar industries of the national economy. It is highly necessary to develop E-commerce. The Chinese petrochemical firms must upgrade this traditional industry by advanced information technology and thus enhance its competitiveness, so as to meet the challenges posed by economic globalization and the new economy.

Experts analyzed that there is great potential for China's petrochemical industry to develop E-commerce. This industry boasts more than 40,000 products and an annual sales volume of over 700 billion yuan. The petrochemical industry has good prospects for developing E-commerce for its characteristics of batch delivery and bulk transactions that make it easy to break the bottleneck of E-commerce that hinders settlement and distribution.

However, currently, the E-commerce of China's petrochemical industry is still in its primary stage of development. Government departments should strengthen the programming and give correct guidance to E-commerce. The petrochemical enterprises should increase input and train professional personnel for E-commerce, choose appropriate E-commerce model according to their scale and the condition of their production and operation, map out plans for the future development of E-commerce development, , so that limited funds can yield the greatest economic benefit.
