Hong Kong Launching 30-Year Blueprint
Recently, Hong Kong SAR Government started to make 30-year blueprint of Hong Kong, the large-scale and long-term development planning research which is expected to be finished in 18 months.
Bosco C.K. Fung, Director of Planning Department of Hong Kong SAR Government, said this research was named Hong Kong 2030�� Prospect and Development Strategy. It would be divided into two parts: 10-year short-term one, and 20-year mid-term one. The research would make plans on Hong Kong's population, economic development, and etc.
Fung also denoted that after the transportation network connecting New Territories and the Main Land was established, and after China's entery into WTO, economic relation between Hong Kong and Zhujiang River Delta would be closer. Therefore, increasing Hong Kong's competitive power, radiating Hong Kong's local characteristics, and improving Hong Kong People's living standard would be the key aims of Hong Kong's long-term planning.
It is reported that this is the longest development planning research. The previous 20-year planning research was made in 1991.(
