HK to Build Longest Stayed-cable BridgeThe Angchuanzhou Bridge of Hong Kong will be completed in 2007. With the 1,000-m-long span of its main bridge, the Angchuanzhou Bridge by then will become the longest stayed-cable bridge in the world as well as another new hallmark of Hong Kong.The Angchuanzhou Bridge, together with the Qinglong Bridge to be built, will become a witness to the Hong Kong SAR government's persistent effort devoted to the construction of Hong Kong's future. These infrastructure facilities, when completed and put into service, will make the trunk line network set up by Hong Kong for transit communications become more improved. The Angchuanzhou Bridge is the main part of the No.9 trunk line, construction of which is to be launched in 2002 and completed in 2007. |
