More Than Half of World Top 500 Setting Branches in Guangdong

Among World Top 500, more than 280 transnational corporations have set branches in Guangdong with over 300 investment projects in value of billions of US dollars.

Scattered mainly in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan and Jiangmen, the above mentioned corporations have involved in the business of home appliances, mechanic, petroleum, automobiles, high polymer, chemicals, glass fibre, chemical necessities, container-manufacturing, electronics and computer parts, covering all fields of industries.

The said corporations are mainly from the United States, Japan, Switzerland, Germany, France, Holland, Finland and Singapore. Some examples are Standard, Mobile, Macdonald, Xerox, Exxon, Caltex from the United States, National, Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Honda, Sanyo, Toyota, Sony, Canon from Japan, Philip, Royal Shell from Holland, ABB from Switzerland, and Ericsson from Sweden.

Experts remarked that such stepping in by the transnational corporations had greatly helped Guangdong to raise funds and had boosted the export-oriented economy in Guangdong. (Panorama)
