China's Yang Xia Wins Women's 53kg Category Weightlifting


China's Yang Xia Sets Women's 53-kg Snatch World Record
China's Yang Xia claimed the gold medal of the women's weightlifting 53kg category with three world records at the Sydney Olympic Games on Monday in Sydney.

The Chinese girl, snatched 100kg and jerked 125kg for a total of 225 kilograms, all with world record lifts.

Former world records were 97.5, 121.5 and 217.5kg respectively.

Li Feng-Ying of Chinese Taipei, former world record holder in clean and jerk, was second at 212.5kg and Indonesian Winarni Binti Slamet finished third at 202.5kg.
