Asia's Largest Italian Zone to Be Built in Tianjin

Tianjin, a port city neighboring Beijing in north China, will turn a community built in early 20th century into the largest area featuring Italian Style in Asia.

The old community was built along the bank of Haihe, a river running across the northern municipality. It consisted of Italian style houses, shops, a hospital and a church.

Based on the old Italian styled community, the zone with a floor space of 200,000 square meters will consist of a trade and tourism area featuring Italian culture, an industrial park, and a demonstration and wholesale market of Italian products.

An organization for Italian-Chinese economic and industrial trade relations has set up a representative office in Tianjin this week to participate in the construction of the zone.
