Indian Naval Vessels Visit Shanghai

A formation of Indian naval vessels began a four-day goodwill visit to Shanghai Sunday to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and India.

This is the third visit to China by Indian naval vessels. The formation, composed of the INS DELHI missile-guided destroyer and the INS KORA light escort vessel, is led by Commander-in-Chief Vinod Pasricha of India's Eastern Naval Command.

Zhao Guojun, Commander of the East China Sea Fleet of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Naval Forces, presided over a welcoming ceremony at noon today in honor of the Indian naval servicemen.

Zhao also hosted a banquet for the guests this evening.
