Senior CPC Official Urges Judicial Justice

A senior CPC official on Saturday urged judges and prosecutors in China to improve political quality and proficiency, and safeguard judicial justice.

Wei Jianxing, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), said that law enforcement staff should vigorously perform their duty in providing judicial guarantees and services for the people.

"Whether the people's courts can implement the principle of ruling the country according to law depends on how impartially its staff handle the cases and how well they exert their duty," noted Wei, who is also a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee.

Wei said that training of judges and prosecutors is "extremely important" because "only by learning the most advanced knowledge on laws and sciences can they apply them correctly to work," he added.

He urged courts at all levels in China to give priority in training staff on their agenda.
