Bahraini Official Meets With Chinese Ambassador Over Gulf Air Crash

Bahraini Court Affairs Minister Sheikh Ali Bin Isa Al-Khalifa on Saturday visited the Chinese embassy in Muscat to convey condolence over the death of three Chinese citizens in the Gulf Air plane crash last month.

The minister conveyed to Chinese Ambassador Pan Xiangkang the condolences of Bahraini Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa, Prime Minister Sheikh Khalifa Bin Sulman Al-Khalifa and Crown Prince Salman Ibn Hamad over the tragic accident, said a report.

The Chinese ambassador expressed thanks and appreciation for the consolation and praised the measures taken by Bahrain in dealing with the accident.

The ill-fated Gulf Air Airbus A320, bound from Cairo to the Bahraini capital of Muscat, plunged into Gulf waters near Bahraini airport on August 23 and killed all 143 people on board, including three Chinese.

The cause of the crash is expected to be released before the endof the year, according to the Bahraini authorities.
