Tao Luna Wins First Gold for China in Sydney

Tao Luna Wins First Gold for China in Sydney
China's Tao Luna won the gold medal of the women's 10m air pistrol with 488.2 points in Sydney Sunday, the first for China in Sydney Olympic 2000.

Tao was never challenged for the lead, shooting consistently throughout the 10 shot final, while Jasna Sekaric of Yugoslavia and Australian Annemarie Forder finished second and third respectively.

"I never thought about the gold medal, it never crossed my mind. I am very happy." said Tao Luna.

"The trainer told me not to aim too high and so I was quite relaxed and I don't feel any pressure." Tao said.

Tao Luna said yesterday's Chinese results did not affect her.

Forder was very excited about her bronze medal:"Absolutely fantastic. Everybody supported me, it was unbelieveable."

"I'm dedicating it to my mum and dad." Forder said.
