Macao SAR Chief Executive to Visit Japan

Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), will pay a five-day official visit to Japan from September 18 to 22.

A press release issued Friday by the Information Bureau of the Macao SAR government said the trip will strengthen friendly relations and economic ties between the Macao SAR of China and Japan.

The chief executive is scheduled to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori and Foreign Minister Yohei Kono and some lower-ranking officials.

He will also visit a racing club, the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the Asahi Shimbun newspaper, and the senior managers of three Japanese airline companies.

Edmund Ho's entourage includes Susana Chou, president of the Macao Legislative Council, Francis Tam Pak Un, secretary for economy and finance of the Macao SAR government, and some administrative and business people.

Since the founding of the Macao SAR last December, the chief executive has visited France and Portugal and Singapore.
