Coastal City Holds 12th Int'l Fashion Festival
The 12th Dalian International Fashion Festival opened today at this coastal city in northeast China's Liaoning Province.
More than 400 enterprises from some 40 Chinese and overseas cities have attended the fair. Half of the businesses taking part in the exhibition are from over 20 countries in Europe and the United States.
Zhang Siqing, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and former Japanese prime minister Fuji Murayama cut the ribbon at the ceremony held in Xinghai Convention and Exhibition Center.
A garment exhibition, an export fair and a fashion design contest and other activities will be held in the festival.
Dalian has hosted 11 international fashion festivals since 1988.
The festival will start on the first Saturday every September since 2001.
