Exhibition on Coal Mining Opens in "Capital of Coal"

An exhibition on China's coal mining opened today at China Coal Museum in north China's Shanxi Province.

The exhibition was designed to put on display different development periods of China's coal mining industry and achievement it has obtained.

Visitors are able to have a view of the distribution of China's coal, reserve, transporting and sales, and the blueprint of China's coal mining through illustrations.

Also on display are some pictures about top Chinese leaders inspecting coal mines, such as of late Chairman Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi, Deng Xiaoping, and President Jiang Zemin, Premier Zhu Rongji.

Simulant coal mines in the museum help visitor learn the vicissitude of coal mining from the ancient time to today.

China Coal Museum is the only national museum of its kind in China located in Taiyuan, capital city of Shanxi Province known as the "capital of coal" for its abundant resources of coal.
