Five Hundred Thousand Visit Japanese Invasion Museum in NE ChinaOver 500,000 people have paid visits to the September 18 Museum in Shenyang, which records Japan's invasion of China in the 1930s, since September 18, 1999.The museum is located in Shenyang, capital city of northeast China's Liaoning Province. On September 18, 1931, Japanese troops in northeastern China began attacking the Chinese army and then occupied Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning provinces in northeast China. That day is regarded as a day of humiliation among Chinese. The museum was built and renovated on the original site of September 18 Event. It has eight halls with historical documents, photos and other materials on display. Visitors can use the electronic reading rooms, multi-media computers and have access to the Internet. The renovation cost 130 million yuan (about 16 million U.S.dollars).
