President of Swiss Confederation Concludes China Visit
President Adolf Ogi of the Swiss Confederation concluded his tour of China and left Shanghai Thursday evening.
During his stay in Shanghai, Ogi met with Shanghai Mayor Xu Kuangdi. Xu told the guest that Shanghai expects to cooperate with Switzerland in the areas of bio-technology, finance and insurance, and tourism management.
Ogi said that the business people accompanying his visit are quite confident of their participation in Shanghai's development.
The Swiss President attended the opening ceremony of two photo exhibitions, Switzerland in Shanghai 2000 and Shanghai in the Eye of Swiss, and a founding ceremony of the "Shanghai-Swiss Center".
Ogi and his party arrived in Shanghai yesterday evening from Beijing.
