At 7:30 p.m. that evening, a vehicle was traveling on Xishan Road in the western suburbs of Urumqi, carrying explosives set to be destroyed, which were originally used for training local militiamen. The bumpy road conditions rocked the vehicle, and the explosives were accidentally detonated, the experts said. More than 20 motor vehicles and some nearby houses were damaged in the accident. |
