Dalian Destroys Illegal Gambling Machines

Authorities in Dalian, a major port city in northeast China's Liaoning Province, recently destroyed some 106 video game machines which were smuggled into the city from overseas for gambling.

The machines were seized by the city's customs in a massive crackdown on smuggling and gambling.

During the February-August crackdown, the customs officials also seized 1,674 pirated books, illegal publications and pornographic video tapes.

The city will continue its severe crackdown on smuggling and illegal video game activities this year, according to officials.
