Dutch Approve Gay Marriage RightsThe Netherlands, long among the gay rights vanguard, enacted a bill Tuesday converting the country's ''registered same-sexr partnerships'' into full-fledged marriages, complete with divorce guidelines and wider adoption rights for gays. Proponents say the legislation will give Dutch gays rights beyond those offered in any other country. The vote passed 107-33, and only a few small Christian parties voiced opposition. Same-sex couples will be able to formally wed, adopt Dutch children, divorce legally, and claim pensions and other benefits.
