Kyocera to Build High-Tech Industrial Park in Dongguan

Kyocera of Japan announced that it would pump another 90 million US dollars into the construction of a high-tech industrial park in Shilong Town of Dongguan City, Guangdong Province.

According to local sources, the projected park will have an area of 200,000 sq.m. and will be used as a building place for high-tech products of advanced standards, such as multi-functional digital Xerox machines.

When production begins at the park, its annual output value will amount to 10 billion yuan, said the sources.

Kyocera started investing in the town 12 years ago. It has altogether invested 150 million yuan in starting up businesses in Shilong Town, mainly for the production of optical and electronic products, including cameras. Shilong Town has become Kyocera's largest production base in China.

Kyocera's successful investment has prompted a dozen other Japanese companies to follow suit. Minolta Camera Co. Ltd., for instance, also built an industrial town, with an area of 110,000 sq.m., in Shilong Town, last year.

Dongguan City is a famous export processing center and a leading exporter in Guangdong Province.
