Guatemala IOC Member Names Beijing as Favorite for 2008 Olympics

IOC member Willi Kaltschmitllujan of Guatemala said Beijing is the front runner in the bidding for the 2008 Olympic Games.

Kaltschmitllujan said Beijing has all the necessary facilities and conditions to host the 2008 Olympic Games and is definitely one of the favorites in the bidding process.

Kaltschmitllujan said Chinese sports improved greatly in recent years and contributed a lot to the development of world sport.

Beijing has rich experiences of hosting a variety of important international sports meets and that make Beijing one of the favorites.

Kaltschmitllujan suggested that Beijing should do its utmost effort to improve environment and transportation conditions.
