Opening Ceremony for Relinking Kyongui Line to be Held on Sep.18

ROK will hold an opening ceremony for the relinking of the Kyongui Line railroad Imjin-gak in Kyonggi Province on Sept. 18.

President Kim Dae-jung, high-ranking Korean officials, the diplomatic representatives in Korea, and 1,000 South Koreans originally from the DPRK will participate in the ceremony. However, it is not yet confirmed whether the North will hold its opening ceremony at the same time as the South.

Also, from September 9-13, at 17 different locations, the Ministry of construction and Transportation is planning to hold a special event for the public to write good-luck messages on the crossties to be used in the construction.
