President of Swiss Confederation Arrives in Beijing

President Adolf Ogi of the Swiss Confederation arrived in Beijing Tuesday morning on a three-day unofficial visit to China at the invitation of the Chinese government.

President Jiang Zemin and Premier Zhu Rongji are expected to meet with President Ogi on separate occasions.

During Ogi's stay in the Chinese capital, he will attend a reception marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Sino-Swiss diplomatic relations.
