Typhoon "Wukong" Leaves Trail of Wreckage in South China

The typhoon "Wukong" destroyed 2,700 houses and 70,000 hectares of crops in the island province of Hainan in south China.

More than 2.4 million local residents and 240,000 hectares of crops were affected by the typhoon, local authorities said.

It is expected that grain harvest in the province will be reduced by 93,000 tons this year as a result of the disaster.

Local authorities are helping people to return their daily routines and production back to normal.
