Dalian Keeps Top Standings of China Soccer League

Dalian Shide has kept the top standings of the Chinese first division soccer league after drawing with Sichuan Quanxin 0-0 in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province, on Sunday.

After 22 round matches, Dalian totalled 46 point with 14 victories, four draws and four defeats.

Shanghai Shenhua, only one point behind Dalian after the last round, tied Tianjin Taida 1-1 in a home match. Shanghai Shenhua opened the scoring in the 25th minute through Qi Hong. But Tianjin's Zhang Xiaorui levelled the score in the 78th minute in a fast counter-attack. Shanghai Shenhua amassed 45 points with 13 wins and six draws.

With four round of competitions remaining, Dalian and Shanghai will vie for the league title.

Chongqing Longxin whitewashed Jilin Aodong 7-1 tonight and finished third with 37 points. The defending champions Shandong Luneng drew with Beijing Guo'an 1-1 in a home game. Shandong has now ranked fourth with 36 points.

In Sunday's other matches, Liaoning Fushun tied Qingdao Hainiu 1-1, Shenzhen Ping'an edged Xiamen Xiaxin 4-0 and Yunnan Hongta drew with Shenyang Haishi 2-2.
