Xiamen Software Garden Startup in Xiamen

Xiamen Software Garden, "Torch" project or state software production base centering on Siming Software Garden was formally put into operation September 10 in Xiamen, Fuiian Province, when a multitude of merchants are seen these days descending for the 4th China Investment and Trade Talks held in the city.

Construction of Xiamen Software Park began by the end of 1998. The municipal government of Xiamen had early introduced a series of preferential policies and rules in backing up the undertaking. Special allocations had also been made in speeding up the building of Siming Software Park as a part of Xiamen Software Garden.

Siming Software Park lies on seashore Huandao Road, opposite to Jinmen, adjacent to Xiamen University.

In the past two years, Xiamen's Software industry has witnessed a rapid growth: Over 100 software enterprises were established and have been run on an increasingly large scale, with a total annual output value of over 500 million yuan netted. Of these, some such as "Southeast Rongtong Software Co Ltd.", "Xiamen Information Port Construction Development Co Ltd.", "Science and Technology Software Co Ltd." and "Julong Software Co Ltd." have already become widely known for great advancements made in Xiamen.

To meet the demand for personnel for developing software industry, Xiamen and Jimei Universities each have had their own computer and information engineering schools founded. Lots of investment have already been attracted from Taiwan, Hong Kong, America, Japan and other places of the Chinese mainland have been attracted for a booming industry developed in Xiamen. From this there has been brought about accordingly the rise of many large software producers like Lark Software Company, Golden Phoenix Software Company, Alfar Software Company and Haihuan Software Company known for their export-oriented software production in Xiamen.
