WPO Asian Packaging Center Settled in China
China Packaging Technology Association announced on September 10 in Beijing that World Packaging Organization (WPO) had approved its Asian Packaging Center in China. Recently the State Economic and Trade Commission basically agreed with WPO to set up its Chinese center in Wenzhou city, by the east coast of China. This is the great measure taken by China's packaging industry to welcome the WTO entry and to keep in line with the international counterpart.
It is learned that the first phase project preparation of Asian Packaging Center Headquarter included 9 large parts, information and network center, exhibition center, Asian Packaging Center Building, WPO assembly hall, grand hotel, world trade center, finance building, education center, technology center. The total construction area reached about 1.2 million square meters with a estimated investment of more than 3.5 billion yuan.
At the same time, a world packaging free trade processing area and a international packaging industrial garden will also be set up to enable the respective development. This project, under guidance of state departments and ministry, planned and prpared by China Packaging Technology Association, WPO and Asian Packaging Organization, will be implemented by a Jintai Packaging Co., Ltd. to be founded by China Jintai Group and other domestic and international packaging organizations jointly.
