MBA Courses Attract More Students

The international MBA (IMBA) courses organized by Lingnan College of Zhongshan University this semester attracted 84 Chinese and overseas students, doubling last year's figure.

An opening ceremony for the IMBA program jointly funded by Zhongshan University and the U.S.-based Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) was held today.

This is MIT's third MBA program in China beside its previous cooperation projects with Qinghua University in Beijing and Fudan University in Shanghai.

According to the cooperation plan, MIT will train teachers for China and provide up-to-date English textbooks which are used in the United States.

The program at Zhongshan University is aimed to cultivate advanced business professionals for Guangdong, China's economic powerhouse.

The university chose students among more than 400 applicants.
