Beijing Municipal Anti-aircraft Headquarters announced Saturday that the Chinese capital is scheduled to try air-raid sirens on September 13.

The sirens will be heard between 4:30 and 5:40 pm, in Beijing's western district of Shijingshan, the headquarters said.

According to concerned national law and local regulations, siren trials are normal and necessary way to check sound effects of the equipment.

The trials will include three sirens, such as preparation, emergency and release signals in sequence.

They also ordered residents in Shijingshan District and neighboring areas to remain calm and not to be alarmed while the sirens are being tested.
