Hospital in Beijing Donates Medical Instruments to Remote Areas

The People's Hospital affiliated to the Beijing University Saturday donated medical instruments for the treatment of tumors in remote areas of China.

The instruments, worth some 10 million yuan (1.2 million US dollars), were donated to southwest China's Yunnan Province and north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

Developed by the People's Hospital and the Beijing-based Yuande Medical Instrument Company Ltd, the medical instruments won a science and technology award in 1998.

With the application of ultrasonic wave technology, the instrument can be used to treat cancer. More than 1,000 patient across China have already benefited from these medical instruments.
