Chinese Premier Meets Japanese Delegation
Premier Zhu Rongji Saturday met with a delegation with the Japan-China Association on Economy and Trade headed by its President Sugiichiro Watari in Urumqi, capital city of Xinjiang Uigur Autonomous Region in west China.
Extending a warm welcome to the delegation, Zhu highly appreciated the long-term efforts of the association in promoting economic and trade relations between China and Japan and expressed the hope that Japanese enterprises would develop more cooperation in China's western regions.
The Premier, who is going to pay an official good-will visit to Japan in October, said he hopes to take the opportunity to further stimulate bilateral relations in the new century.
Watari said Japan's economy is gradually recovering from the long-term downturn. Both the government and the Japanese people are looking forward to Premier Zhu's upcoming visit.
