Homemade Helicopter to Be Used in Civil Aviation

China's homemade helicopters will be used for the first time in civil aviation after it went through a high-standard airworthiness flight test recently.

The test, called "flying on the verge of death", requires the aircraft to undergo high-risk flight trials.

Experts say that the aircraft created a breakthrough in China's airworthiness flight test.

The helicopter has created several records during the trial flight, with flight duration of five hours at normal temperature, a two-hour flight at 38 degrees Celsius below zero and a temperature difference between 6 degrees Centigrade and 43 degrees Centigrade minus. It also managed 1,332 km fault-free flight.

The manufacture of the helicopter began in 1991 by Changhe Company in Jindezhen of east China's Jiangxi Province. It is able to fly 598 km at a speed of 240 km per hour.

The helicopter can be used for many purposes, such as coaching, reconnaissance, communication, rescue, smuggle suppression and scientific research.
