Chinese Premier Meets US Guests
Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji met Saturday with Former US Secretary of Treasury Robert Rubin and his party in Urumqi, the capital city of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Zhu briefed the guests on the Chinese government's policies in developing the western area, the natural resources in Xinjiang, and China's reforms and opening up.
The premier also exchanged views with the guests on Sino-US cooperation in securities, finance, and investment.
Rubin and his party are here at the invitation of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
