Painting, Calligraphy Festival Opens in Northeast ChinaThe China Painting and Calligraphy Festival opened Friday in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province.More than 2,000 Chinese calligraphers and painters participated in the festival, which will display 1,200 works of painting and calligraphy. The five-day festival will feature two exhibitions of more than 300 works by master painters and calligraphers of the past as well as the present, and a series of related activities. The festival is sponsored by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Shenyang city government and the Chinese Artists Association. |
