Singapore to Help Macao SAR Train Civil ServantsA working group of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) government will go to Singapore by the end of this month to seek the latter's assistance in training civil servants of the SAR, the Macao Daily News reported Friday. Some medium-rank officials will be chosen to receive training first, the newspaper quoted Florinda da Rosa Silva Chan, secretary for administration and justice, as saying. The working group, which consists of ten administrative officials, is conferring with some government departments to decide the number and names of civil servants to be trained, Florinda said. On the other hand, the group is making contacts with the Singaporean consulate in Hong Kong to collect necessary data about training courses in Singapore. However, she did not make clear whether civil servants of the Macao SAR will go to study in Singapore, or Singaporean teachers will be invited here. Macao SAR Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah had reached an initial agreement on the training during his recent official visit to Singapore. |
